Aloha, ハイサイ (haisai), & こんにちは (konnichiwa)!

「Ono」 is the Hawaiian word for 「delicious」; my goal is to try many delicious foods in Okinawa and the rest of Japan, to explore the small local places hidden away. Ono is おいしい oishii in Japanese and まーさん maasan in Okinawan language.

This is an informal blog about random food, cafes, culture, traditions, and travel that I encounter while living in Okinawa. I try to continuously update pages and information as I come across it or as I have time. Sometimes I include well-known places, while sometimes I only write about the small local places that are hard to find. I also try to include information on a lot of local Okinawan and traditional Ryukyuan food. If there is anything you cannot find an answer to, simply click on the contact page and send a message.
